Floor Care & Maintenance in Charlotte, NC

Our specialty. Terrazzo polishing, vinyl & VCT strip and wax, and hard floor restoration that keep the surface every visitor notices first looking like new.

Strip, wax, and polish that protects your investment

Commercial floors take a beating: foot traffic, carts, and daily use strip away the protective finish and leave floors dull and worn. Floor care is what Dust Away is known for. Since 2007 we have restored and maintained terrazzo, VCT, vinyl, and other hard floor surfaces, with the commercial equipment and finishes that deliver a true showroom shine.

The Dust Away Floor Care Standard, in practice: crews trained per surface (terrazzo, VCT, vinyl), not a single generic buffer pass, and a finish schedule built around your actual foot traffic.

Floor Care & Maintenance in Charlotte, NC

Our strip & wax process

Stripping

A professional stripping solution dissolves all old wax and residue, removed with a high speed machine that won't damage the tile.

Rinse & neutralize

The floor is rinsed thoroughly so no residue prevents the new finish from bonding.

Dry

Industrial drying equipment ensures the floor is fully dry before finish is applied, minimizing downtime.

Wax application

3-5 coats of commercial grade finish, each dried fully, build a thick, durable protective layer.

Burnish

A high speed burnisher brings the final coat to a brilliant, high gloss shine.

Why Dust Away

Why facilities trust us with their floors

You talk to the person who runs the crew

Floor projects go wrong in the details. When something needs adjusting mid job, you reach the owner, not a dispatcher taking a message.

Equipment most cleaners rent

Burnishers, auto scrubbers, and diamond polishing systems are ours, maintained and ready, not rented the morning of the job.

Priced per project, no lock in

Restoration is quoted per project and maintenance runs month to month, so you are never paying for a finish schedule you stopped needing.

Floor care is the whole job, not an add on

Terrazzo, VCT, vinyl, and polished concrete are handled by our own trained crews, the work most janitorial companies quietly subcontract.

Common questions

Questions we get about floor care

How long does a strip and wax take?

For a typical commercial floor, plan on one overnight window per 3,000 to 5,000 square feet: stripping the old finish, neutralizing, then laying four to five coats with cure time between each. Larger areas get split into zones across consecutive nights so no part of your building is ever closed off during business hours.

When can we walk on the floor again?

Light foot traffic is safe about two hours after the final coat. Rolling loads (carts, pallet jacks, office chairs) should wait a full 24 hours, because the finish is dry to the touch long before it has hardened all the way through. We schedule the last coat to give you that window before you open.

How often should this be redone?

A full strip and wax is usually a once a year job, sometimes every eighteen months. What actually extends it is what happens in between: regular burnishing and a proper maintenance program keep the top coats alive, so you are restoring the finish rather than replacing it. Floors that only get stripped and then ignored need it twice as often.
